I've been up since 5:30 a.m. this morning (Ok, it was supposed to be 5:30 a.m., but let's be honest—it was more like 5:55) to promote the new issue—that you can read here—of VIE on a local radio show. I'm hyped up on about four cups of coffee, and words are a little hard to write with all the hyper thoughts running through my head. So can we settle for a few looks I love on this rainy Thursday? I didn't think you'd mind...
I'm not sure what the theme is here, but I think it's a good one.
More words for tomorrow. Until then, read a lot of my words in the new issue of VIE here.
Today is May the 2nd. And today is also a very important day.
That's right ladies (and gents?). VIE's All-American Summer issue (May/June) has hit the streets. I love this issue so. very. much. For those of you not in the magazine world, it really is a sight to see when bringing a magazine to life. From the initial conception of the editorial calendar, plotting articles for the rest of the year, to planning photo shoots, editing copy, and approving spreads, this is tough work. But holding that magazine in my hand, I see and feel the creativity, passion, blood, sweat and tears of an entire staff that loves to make this magazine. And with my lovely friend Lauren on the cover, and a feature story that entailed a twelve hour photo shoot, I think it's safe to say I'm a little emotionally invested in this one.
Want a little sneak peak into said twelve-hour photo shoot? Well then, here ya go:
I'm going to pop a bottle of champagne or something. Happy Wednesday—we're almost there!
It's going to be a nutty day in the office as we prepare for a our May/June cover shoot for VIE. Just dashing in with a quick hello, and to show you a few of the lazy days of summer images we used on VIE's spring shoot inspiration board to recreate as our own. You can see it here—it will have you longing to lounge along the shore in a snap, a far cry from the gloomy rainy day that has settled upon us down here in Florida. With picnics and Vespas and sailboats (oh my!), I can't wait to show you the end product, hitting newsstands May 1.
The temps are warm, there's a lot on the agenda, and most importantly, the March/April issue of VIE just hit the shelves! This issue is chock-full of celebs, style, and travel, including a fantastic piece on Nashville by one of my favorites, MCK. Check it out (for real) here.
Much to do today, but dashing in for your daily dose of inspiration, today in the form of the NEW Winter 2011 issue of VIE! You can now read the online version here -- just select the Winter 2011 issue.

You should also start jumping over to the VIE blog here as I'll be posting lots of holiday inspiration there in the upcoming weeks, starting today with Holiday Sparkle (naturally).
Isn't that just gorgeous? Excuse me while I stand on a soapbox for a moment. This glorious issue is back from the printer and hitting the streets (that's one of my fave magazine lingo phrases, btw.) I've never worked so hard on something in my life, and never felt so rewarded holding something in my hand. I'm fully aware of the digital presence in our world but, tell me, what's better than turning the glossy pages of a magazine with a cup of coffee in hand during some down time? Not much, I tell you. You can read the Winter 2011 issue of VIE online here just as soon as we get it up. While you're on that site, go ahead and view our behind-the-scenes video of the staff photo shoot we did a few weeks ago here. Do you recognize me? Want some more good news? From Ainsley, with love, is having its first giveaway tomorrow! Go ahead and start following the blog up at the top of the toolbar on your screen, because trust me, you're going to want to put in your super easy bid on a great little piece for your wardrobe. Happy Wednesday, lovelies!
** A special shout out to Ms. Williams over at Carrie Bradshaw Lied for the ultra-fab tuxedo blazer I am currently wearing and practically stole from Forever 21. It will remain a super stable in my wardrobe from this day forward.
