Sweet Snow Treat

I think I'm pushing too hard for spring.
Why? Because there are five inches of snow outside on the ground. Again. Repeat, for the second time this year. As in 2011. And it's February.  Ohmygosh, I live in Mississippi for a reason y'all. For goodness sake....
But despite our exasperated sighs as the quarter size flakes started drifting from the sky around noon today (ok, I'll admit, it was breathtakingly beautiful, but a girl can only be unable to drive on icy roads and confined to her home so many days out of the year) I trudged outside in my trusty Hunters and scooped fresh snow from the ground to make this goodness for my and the roomies' after dinner dessert (because we can't have unhappy roomies, can we?)
Snow Cream:
2 cups milk
1/2 cup sugar
2  teaspoons of vanilla (large ones, as my mom would say)
and as much snow that it takes to get it to the consistency of your pleasure

Easy as pie, and sweet as it too. We threw some leftover chocolate chips from the cookie dough dip I made last week in our snow cream at the last moment for added pleasure. Because, ya know, chocolate chips make everything better.
So, with yet another snow day in the forecast tomorrow, stay tuned to see what cabin fever will make me do next.
xoxo
