Monday Madness

Hope your week is off to a great start. Let's make it a good one while we can. In the meantime, I found this simple Swap Party idea online at Real Simple this morning and am in love.
Despite it being wonderfully economical, what could be more fun than swappning your past fave purchases with girlfriends and cocktails? Invite anywhere from 5 to 20 people, and have everyone bring equal numbers of swap material. Bring anything from clothes to houseware to books and dvd's, to jewelry and decor items. Get creative when displaying the loot. Bring in old chests to showcase jewelry or shoes, and clear off the dining room table to showcase some of the harder to handle merchandise. Hang clothes from racks titled things such as Samantha, Carrie, Charlotte, and Miranda so guests know what they're diving into before trying to beat the clock. And because things can get a little out of control if their is a Tory Burch wallet for swap or some Tom Ford shades, it would be important to establish some rules before the shotgun start. Real Simple has a few easy ones planned and ready for you in their article here. Don't forget that if clothes are part of the swap merchandise, you may want to be mindful of inviting guests who can donate a wide variety of sizes so no one is left out. And you're also going to want to make up a menu of easy-handled finger foods so people can shop and eat at the same time. Mix up your favorite martini and be prepared to walk out not empty-handed. See all of Real Simple's Swap Party tips at their article here.
