Holiday Frocks

The lights are out, the trees are up, and there's a winter chill in the air that can only mean one thing: it is truly the most wonderful time of the year. And you all know what that means.
Christmas. Parties.
So begins the search for the most perfect of Christmas party frocks. Not to be confused with New Years attire (I personally like to save my sequins for the countdown night), Christmas party dresses should be classy and sassy at the same time, with that understated elegance we all know and love. Happy holidays with a little satin, perhaps some velvet, an embeleshment here and there, and always, always an abundance of Christmas cheer. Hopefully I'll be sporting a few of these little jewels to some of my Christmas soirees'.

This little frock from Lulu's is understated enough to wear around the grandparents while not compromising fashion for  modesty.

Perfect for a party with friends, this saphire mini  from Shopbop is both understated and bold. You can have your cake (or Christmas cookie) and eat it too!

While a red Christmas dress may seem a bit cliche, the cut of this dress makes it new again. The black tights and pumps have a streamline affect that complete the whole look. Thanks again, Shopbop.

The cut of the top and the brocade of the bottom mix together for the perfect holiday feel. Again, add tights for a streamline affect and a warmer ensemble. Bloomingdales.

This LBD looks like a classic in the front, but a unique twist adds surprise to the back. Nicole Miller has done it again at Saks, making this my number one choice for the holiday season.

For a real chill in the air, this long sleeved Milly dress from Shopbop would be perfect with tights for a little Christmas spirit (although I'd replace the lace up booties with pumps for a dressier alternative).
